Struggling to Breathe (7 pics) [My Modern Metropolis]

Struggling to Breathe (7 pics): "

Japanese photographer Tomohide Ikeya makes creative use of water in his Breathe series. By placing people under it, he captures tiny air bubbles, which symbolize our need to breathe.

After meeting an underwater photographer while scuba diving, he wanted to become one himself. He started as an assistant in 2000, and in 2002 he started his career as a freelance photographer.

“I create artwork with the theme of control,” says Ikeya. “Some things are beyond our control.”
