Adventurous Storytelling Art [My Modern Metropolis]

Adventurous Storytelling Art: "

Natalia Maroz is a talented photographer from the Ukraine who's behind some adventure-filled illustrations. Her digital art has a certain Lemony-Snicket-meets-Tim-Burton vibe that makes it magical and alluring. Needless to say, I love the way each piece is like a scene from some incredible tale. It wakes up the imagination, don’t you think?

Haunted Paradise [My Modern Metropolis]

Haunted Paradise: "

Glenn Barr is a jack of all trades. As a kid, he drew, painted and played guitar in a band. Working with felt-tip or ballpoint pen, Barr rendered true-to-life depictions of his favorite rock stars on t-shirts, jean jackets, and on the cover of spiral bound notebooks. A t-shirt with one of his drawings was thrown on stage during a KISS concert, and frontman Paul Stanley invited him backstage because he was so impressed.

“My biggest influence? I guess I would have to say...television,” Barr said at the Motor City Comic Con in 1994. Here are some of his drawings, which are bizarre and amazing at the same time...

A Lovely Summer Day [My Modern Metropolis]

A Lovely Summer Day: "

Kitty Gallannaugh was born on a lovely summer day in 1990 to a loving couple in London, England. She first discovered her love for photography at the delicate age of 6, when she collected photographs in a shoebox in her cupboard. Taking photographs made her feel incredibly powerful, as she was able to freeze time within the boundaries of a dusty lens. Her hobby grew from a passion and into a career.

Kitty hates forced smiles and awkwardly framed poses so she works to bring out the emotion and personality of each model. She also tries to stretch the margins of regular photography and turn it into a tale.

Every photograph she takes has a story to whisper. Bridging the realm of whimsical nostalgia to romantic fashion, her work captures the valuable memories which can now never fade.

Glenn Barr is a jack of all trades. Dabbling in music and art, it was not long before the two intertwined. As a kid, Barr drew, painted and played guitar in a band. Working in felt-tip or ballpoint pen and ink, he rendered true-to-life depictions of their favorite rock stars on t-shirts, jean jackets, and the covers of spiral bound notebooks. A t-shirt with one of his drawings was thrown on stage during a KISS concert, and frontman Paul Stanley invited him backstage because he was so impressed. “My biggest influence? I guess I would have to say...television,” Barr said at the Motor City Comic Con in 1994. His drawings are bizarre and amazing at the same time. Never at a loss for ideas, Barr has some tricks up his sleeve. Can’t wait to see what he has in store!
